From urban hustle and bustle to the tranquillity of nature – A fulfilled life in the mountains
For 30 years Susan worked in the advertising & marketing industry at various levels, most recently as a partner in a successful agency in Zurich. But the job no longer fulfilled her and made her unhappy. It was clear that a change was necessary. Nevertheless, she continued and did not realise that she was in burnout. Another diagnosis brought everything crashing down. Her body forced her to rest and adopt a healthier lifestyle.
Hugh had been a pilot since he was 16. He flew in the US, southern and eastern Africa, and the Middle East, and was a long-haul pilot for 10 years, circling the globe. But this romantic career came at a price. Irregular working hours, jet lag, long hours of sitting and a stressful workplace led to health problems, exhaustion and the warning signs of burnout.
Both had a lifelong attachment to the mountains and longed for a better quality of life. After many long discussions and fear of the unknown, they made the brave decision to follow their dream and move to a place where they could start a new life.
